Who This Journey Is For

This journey is for you if something in your spirit keeps saying you need this.

You may not be able to explain it yet, and you don't have to.

You are spiritually open and curious. You have real gifts, and you're still learning to trust them fully. You already know that spiritual wellness is the foundation of your overall wellness.

You are busy. You've been putting yourself last for a long time, and something in you has decided that's over.

India will meet you where you are. So will we.

This is not for you if I have to convince you. This journey is for the ones who are ready, and if you are still reading, Remember is calling you.

Dev Deepawali in Varanasi

Our time in Varanasi falls on Dev Deepawali, the “Diwali of the Gods,” when the ghats along the Ganges are lit with more than a million clay lamps. For a retreat called Remember, in one of the oldest cities in the world, no words do this timing justice. We didn't plan it. We followed where Spirit led, and this is where it led.

The Journey

Presence · Love · Liberation · Integration

These are not lessons to master or beliefs to adopt. They are the natural rhythm of what happens when you give yourself permission to truly arrive, in a place, in a moment and in yourself.

01

Presence

Grounding Into Where We Are

Before we try to understand India, we begin by arriving.

November 9Arrival in Delhi

Arrive in Delhi, India's vibrant capital, where ancient traditions and contemporary life exist side by side. Transfer to the hotel and allow yourself time to settle, rest and begin adjusting to the rhythm of this extraordinary country.

There is nothing to accomplish today. Simply arrive.

November 10Delhi: Faith, Everyday Life & Opening Circle

Our first full day begins with our Soul Bloom Opening Circle — grounding ourselves after our travels, connecting as a community and setting personal intentions for the journey ahead. Our invitation is simple: be here before deciding what here means.

We visit Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, one of Delhi's most revered Sikh sacred spaces, known for its peaceful atmosphere and the tradition of seva — selfless service. We continue into the lanes of Old Delhi with a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, pass India Gate and the Presidential area, and spend quiet time at Gandhi Smriti, where Mahatma Gandhi spent the final days of his life.

The day closes with a visit to a local Indian home, where we share a home-cooked dinner and learn simple Indian cooking techniques from our hosts. Not a performance. A welcome.

November 11Delhi to Agra

We depart Delhi for Agra, approximately four hours away. After checking in and resting, we visit the Taj Mahal at sunset — watching its white marble shift color with the fading light.

The Taj Mahal is more than architecture. It is grief made visible. Devotion made permanent.

What has love created in my life?

02

Love

Exploring What Connects Us

Love as devotion, love as service, love as remembrance, love as the thread that runs through every culture, every tradition and every human story we encounter. We do not attempt to define love. We notice how it lives.

November 12Agra: Memory, History & Spaciousness

We explore Agra Fort, a magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb — the exquisite “Baby Taj” — before an afternoon intentionally left open. Rest. Journal. Explore. Or do absolutely nothing.

Later, we visit Mehtab Bagh, a tranquil garden offering a quiet view of the Taj Mahal across the Yamuna River. There will be time simply to take it in.

November 13Agra to Varanasi

We travel by train from Agra to Varanasi — one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and the spiritual heart of Hinduism.

After arriving and settling at the hotel, we enter the old city before witnessing the Ganga Aarti along the banks of the River Ganges. This centuries-old expression of prayer, light, sound and devotion offers our first encounter with Varanasi's extraordinary relationship with the sacred.

We come as respectful witnesses. We do not need to immediately interpret what we see. We simply experience it.

03

Liberation

Life, Freedom, Surrender & Release

Varanasi invites us into questions human beings have contemplated for thousands of years. What does it mean to live? What does it mean to die? What is sacred? And what does it mean to be free?

November 14Varanasi: Life, Death, Devotion & Light

Before the city fully awakens, we travel to the ghats of the River Ganges, walking the riverfront before boarding a boat for a sunrise journey along the Ganges — where life and death exist visibly beside one another in a way rarely encountered in everyday Western life.

We visit the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple, experience an intimate Kathak dance demonstration, and travel to Sarnath, where the Buddha is believed to have delivered his first teaching after attaining enlightenment.

In the evening, we witness Dev Deepawali — where more than a million oil lamps illuminate the ghats along the Ganges. Light upon light upon light. Tonight there is nothing to resolve. We witness. We listen. We wonder.

What does freedom mean to me now?

November 15Varanasi to Cochin: Reflection & Transition

The morning is intentionally spacious. We gather for a Soul Bloom Reflection Circle — making room to sit with what we have witnessed and notice what has been stirred within us. There is no requirement to arrive at answers.

Later, we fly to Cochin — a city celebrated for the remarkable blend of cultures, religions and traditions that have shaped its history over centuries.

04

Integration

Making Room for What Remains

After the intensity of North India, our journey moves south and the rhythm begins to soften. Integration creates room for the body, mind and spirit to catch up with the journey.

November 16Cochin: Many Traditions, One Place

We explore Fort Kochi's cultural heritage — its historic Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, colonial landmarks and the famous Chinese fishing nets, each revealing another layer of a city shaped by migration, trade, faith and exchange.

Cochin does not ask you to choose. It simply shows you what is possible when people make room for one another. In the evening, we experience a traditional Kathakali performance.

November 17Cochin to Kumarakom: Moving Toward Water

We board a traditional boat for a cruise through Kerala's backwaters — surrounded by palms, waterways and villages, moving at a pace India has been quietly keeping for centuries. Lunch is served on board.

We arrive at our lakeside resort in Kumarakom. The remainder of the day is yours. Rest. Walk. Journal. Receive an optional Ayurvedic treatment.

November 18Kumarakom to Kovalam

We travel to Kovalam on Kerala's beautiful Arabian Sea coastline. After checking in, the day is intentionally unscheduled.

Rest beside the sea. Explore traditional Ayurvedic wellness. Or simply enjoy the rare pleasure of having nowhere else you need to be.

November 19Kovalam: Integration & Closing Ceremony

We visit the sacred Padmanabhaswamy Temple and the Sri Chitra Art Gallery before an afternoon left open for relaxation and personal reflection.

As our time in India draws toward its close, we gather for our Soul Bloom Closing Ceremony. Together, we honor the journey we have shared and reflect on what surprised us, moved us, challenged us or expanded us.

What will I carry forward?

November 20Carrying It Home

Transfer to Trivandrum Airport for your onward journey. Our travels through India come to an end.

The journey does not.

I Felt Led to Go

The first time I went to India, I didn't know what to expect. I simply felt led to go, and I have learned to always trust that knowing.

People worried about my safety. They worried about the unknown, or about what they thought they knew about India from what the world had shown them.

I had no fear.

Your Guide

Dr. Makeba Morgan Hill

Spirit-led facilitator, claircognizant intuitive guide, Reiki Master Teacher and Ordained Interfaith Minister. Before this work, she spent more than 25 years leading inside institutions like Emory University and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Throughout the journey she holds the Soul Bloom container: sacred circles and ceremony, and the kind of space where something real is allowed to surface.

What Gets Unearthed

I want to tell you about the Morocco retreat. I went as the leader, the one holding the container and following Spirit on behalf of everyone in the group. Somewhere along the journey, something surfaced in me that I didn't know was still there. Old stuff I thought I had already moved through.

I unearthed it in Morocco, and I left aligned and ready to move forward.

I share that because I want you to know this container is real. It works on everyone inside it, including the woman leading it, and that is the space I will hold for you in India.

“This experience allowed me to unmask in ways I didn't think were possible. I had no control, but I was supported. I was able to overcome fear. And sometimes it's just facing the fear and going through the process and knowing that during this time, you don't know where you're going, you're being guided. To come out on the other end is very encouraging.”
“The last ten days have been symbolic of life in a lot of ways. Difficult passages, difficult nights, difficult periods. It's been asking me to ground through the transitions. I've seen healing. I've seen gorgeous landscapes. I've seen growth personally, within the group and in myself. It's been really transformative to just be here now.”

India will ask something of you too. And you will have everything you need to answer.
